NORTH EAST RIDER'S MEET
It is an event hosted by the Royal Enfield Motorcycle riding Community from the North Eastern states of India. The event is not restricted to members of RE Clubs from the North Eastern states but is rather open to all as solo/individual riders as well as members of other RE. The event is usually held for 3 days in the month of November-December.
1st Edition
The very first edition of NERM was held in Assam – Kaziranga, hosted by the Rhino Riders Club in the year 2009.
The event was initiated by Sunil Karnany, who contacted Royal Enfield Riders from neighboring states. It was then decided that they will all meet at Kaziranga.
The concept was hugely successful and acknowledged. The number of participants during the first edition was 20 bikers.
2nd Edition
The Second Edition of NERM was held in Mechuka – Arunachal Pradesh. This event was hosted by Arunachal Pradesh Bullet Club [ABC]. This edition saw a number of Riders and Club participation from other parts of the country as well.
3rd Edition
The Third Edition of NERM was held at Sohra, Meghalaya [Cherrapunjee] in November 2011 and was hosted by Royal Enfield Riders Association of Meghalaya [RERAM]. The total number of riders who attended this meet was 183.
4th Edition
The Fourth Edition of NERM was hosted by the Nagaland Motorcycling Club [NMC], at Kohima in December 2012. The total number of riders who attended this meet was 197.
5th Edition
The Fifth Edition of NERM was hosted at Champhai, Mizoram, on the 21st - 25th October 2013 by the Aizawl Thunders Bullet Club. Around 400 riders witnessed the event.
6th Edition
The Sixth Edition of NERM was hosted by the Royal Riders Manipur on the 5, 6 and 7th November 2014. The event witnessed the participation of more than 600 riders from across the country.
7th Edition
The Seventh Edition of NERM was hosted by the Bulls of Assam Motorcycling club on the 27th, 28th and 29th November 2015 at Nellie, Assam with around 650 riders attending the meet.
8th Edition
The Eight Edition of NERM was host by RERAM Strombringers, on the 10th, 11th and 12th of November 2016 at Pongtung, Meghalaya. The total number of participants who attended the meet was 926.
9th Edition
The Ninth Edition of NERM was hosted by the Arunachal Bullet Club, in association with The Gliding Piranhas, 30 degrees North, and the Royal Siang Riders, on the 10th, 11th and 12th November 2017 at Rengging Village, close to Pasighat.
10th Edition
The Tenth Edition of NERM was hosted by the Open Road Wanderers MC, Sikkim, on the 26th, 27th and 28th October 2018 at Ravangla Village, in South Sikkim.
11th Edition
The Eleventh Edition of NERM was hosted by the Aizawl Thunders, the oldest bullet club in the country at Vanzau Chalfilh on the 26th to 28th November 2019. The event saw around 1500+ participants from all across the north eastern states.
12th Edition
The Twelfth Edition of NERM was hosted by the Nagaland Motorcycle Club, on the 3rd, 4th and 5th December, 2022, at Chumukedima, Nagaland. 12th Edition of NERM or NERM 2022 was held after a break of 2 Pandemic years.
13th Edition
The Thirteenth edition of NERM was hosted by the Black Hurricanes Motorcycle Club in Assam from the 1st of December 2023 to the 3rd of December 2023. The venue was held at Sivasagar.
14th Edition
14th NERM will start on the first week of Dec 2024. NH51 R.E.B.E.L.S is expecting more than 2500 participants this year. NERM 2024 is aimed at promoting motorcycling tourism and showcasing the rich and vibrant culture of the Garos in particular and Meghalaya at Large.
